At Good Dog Academy NI, dogs aren’t just cared for — they’re treated like family.
Founded with a passion for canine wellbeing and behaviour, Good Dog Academy NI has quickly established itself as one of Northern Ireland’s leading luxury dog boarding and daycare facilities. What sets us apart is not just our award-winning reputation, but the heart and expertise behind everything we do.
Before opening the academy, I worked as a professional dog trainer for a number of years, gaining hands-on experience in canine behaviour, welfare, care and psychology. Slowly I began to look after clients dogs for the day, and then organically transformed into a luxury dog resort, with purpose built, private log cabins 3 outdoor playparks, an indoor play centre, 4 staff members and 2 government issued licences. That foundation still shapes the ethos of the business today — creating an environment where dogs feel safe, understood, and genuinely happy.
Our facility has been purpose designed and built with both comfort, safety and enrichment in mind, all the while adhering to government legislation and regulations. Each dog enjoys their own private wooden log cabin, complete with an individual outdoor run, offering a calm and secure space to rest. During the day, however, the focus shifts to freedom, play, and socialisation.
Unlike most dog facilities in Northern Ireland, Good Dog Academy NI holds both a boarding licence and a socialisation licence — allowing dogs from different households to safely mix and interact. This is a key part of the experience, giving dogs the opportunity to build confidence, burn energy, and simply enjoy being dogs. With Playtime, naps, chase, fetch, bubble parties, puzzle boxes, snuffle mats, outdoor agility playpark, interactive games, frozen KONGS, ball pit & picky pools as just some of the activities we enjoy, every dog who stays with us will experience a positive, fun filled, happy stay and not wan to go home!
With three spacious outdoor play areas and an indoor play space, guests can roam, explore, and play freely throughout the day. From games of chase and fetch to enrichment activities like puzzle toys and sensory play, every day is designed to keep dogs mentally and physically stimulated.
Our team at Good Dog Academy NI are just as exceptional as the facilities, every staff member is highly trained and qualified in canine care, welfare, and behaviour, with canine first aid certifications and diplomas in canine psychology, ensuring each dog receives expert attention and personalised care.
But beyond the qualifications and facilities, it’s the atmosphere that truly stands out. Regular clients often comment on how eager their dogs are to arrive — and how reluctant they are to leave. It’s a place where tails wag constantly, friendships are formed, and every dog is treated as an individual. This commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed, with 8 awards already, Good Dog Academy NI continues to set the standard for premium luxury dog care in Northern Ireland.
For the team, however, the real reward is much simpler — happy, tired dogs heading home after a full day of fun.
